In 2010 we celebrated a decade of producing wines under our
own label, using our estate grapes. To mark the occasion, for
the 2010 vintage we crafted a special limited release Pinot Blanc,
vinified in the tradition of the great whites of Alsace. It
has a hint of residual sugar (0.9%), enough to provide a long
finish, bigger mouthfeel, and complexity of flavors to show our
clones' French heritage. The bouquet reminds us of pear,
anise and white pepper; the flavors are bosch pear, apricot pits
and orange rind. There is enough acidity to balance the
tropical flavors and also remind us that this wine is indeed from
the same grapevines as our signature dry,
mineral-driven Pinot Blanc. A great vintage that allows
long time is required to produce a wine in this style, so we
hope nature will allow us to duplicate something like this very
soon. For now, only 725 cases available.
